What I remember the most from the lecture, besides Reggie's popcorn jokes, is what he said on Tuesday, I think, about his daughter leaving for college. He wept at the airport watching his daughter leave. When they gathered for dinner that night, he noticed the empty chair of his daughter. That helped Reggie to grasp the Father's heart in the story of the prodigal son. How God is looking not at those who are in, but at those who are out there wandering away from home. That imagery helped me to understand the divine intention for a missional church. What made Him to come seeking and saving the lost, because that one look - at the empty chair.

My personal favorite Reggie-ism was in response to someone's job search issues: "God is everywhere. Go where the money is."
