Enjoying God's creation and creatures on a Sunday morning in LA.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of going with my friend Jill Dyche to her "church" on a Sunday morning. What did that mean? Going to the beach with her dogs. I was in Los Angeles with Tamara Dull to do some training at Baseline Consulting. Jill, Tamara and I went to the beach together with Jill's dogs. We talked about all sorts of things including God. It was a great time. After walking the dogs, playing Frisbee, feeling the sand, seeing the amazing scenery, hearing the ocean waves and enjoying the fresh air, we had breakfast at a local cafe that caters to dogs and their humans. Creation, creatures, friends and food - it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.
Jill loves her dogs and treats them to the Sunday beach ritual. On her Facebook page, Jill revelas that she really loves all dogs. She'd rescue everyone of them if she could. One of the ways that we can join Jill in extending Christmas is to help rescue a dog. When times get tough, pets struggle too. Jill would love it if we helped a pup in need. Right Jill?
On the same visit, I visited my cousin Jane. She has a new cat Nero (it's a beautiful black cat). Jane loves all cats and would rescue them if she could. Jane would love it if we helped a kitty in need. Right Jane?
Today's suggestion for extending Christmas is a click away to help a pet in need by visiting the Animal Rescue Site.
This site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Over 10 million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
Each click provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. The Animal Rescue Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent rescued animal deaths every day — through easy and quick online activities.
Today's sugesstion is really simple. All it takes is clicking a button and a dog or cat will get food today. Even our animal friends deserve a special treat.
