Yesterday as I spent time with God reading and praying I had a strong sense of this message. What do you think? Is your story cloudy?

"Tell my people their story is cloudy. There is no sunshine when I'm gone out of people's lives. Their lives seem dark and without joy. There is no hope. People look for hope in the world around them. They have forgotten me. They've given in to their wants and clamor for the world's lures.

But they soon forgot what he had done
    and did not wait for his plan to unfold.
In the desert they gave in to their craving;
    in the wilderness they put God to the test.

God wants us to tell people through our live stories: "I am your sunshine, your joy and your crown. I am your treasure, your abundance and your provision. I bring life in the desert."

"Return to me," says the Lord. "Turn away from your wicked ways. Live your life and story for me and in the light of my Presence."

Celebrating The Story Lives Launch

The book is out!

My first copies arrived September 28, 2012. Wow! The book is a reality. The Story Lives: Leading a Missional Revolution exists!

I've been working on this book for years. Seeing it in print is both real and surreal at the same time. The rest of the books arrived early October.

50 in 50 days

That's right! I turn 50 in 50 days. Half a century, quite a sobering thought. Since I cannot stop time, I choose not to worry about the number. That's the advice Sharon Greenthal shared in her article, "How to Turn 50" in the Huffington Post. Or, as my mother likes to say, you either get older or you don't. So, here's to turning 50 in a few days!

Celebrate life!

 

    There are so many things to celebrate.

    Today I reflected on my last decade.

 

• I worked at Timberlake for 5 years as pastor of adult ministries
• God led me to attend Fuller Theological Seminary and I completed my MA in Global Leadership
• There were the Christian writers conferences at Mount Hermon, California
• Fred and I celebrated our third decade of marriage
• The house was remodeled
• I started my training business, Semper Vita Institute, as well as a nonprofit, called Semper Vita, to help Christians understand and deploy their personalities

Then there were travels, life challenges, financial struggles, great family times, the joy of driving my two-seater, and everything else. A lot of life happened in 10 years!

One of the things I'm most excited about right now is that my book, The Story Lives, was published before I turn the big 50!

I am looking forward to reminiscing about my last 50 years and dreaming about what's ahead!
