Learning to Praise by Keeping My Eyes on Jesus

In the second article, "Keep Your Eyes on Jesus, Not Circumstances," I share a little about our family's story. Jesus used our circumstances to teach us about trusting him for the answers. In the article I write about my breakthrough into praise and faith, after my family faced intense challenges with no end in sight. Here's a short excerpt:
After telling God about my fears, my pain and my inability to endure, I ran out of tears and words. I chose to start thanking God and praising — not because I felt like it but because I was desperate for God. I uttered the words, 'I choose to praise you, God. I praise you, God. I praise you, Jesus. I praise you, Holy Spirit.'
A clear picture suddenly entered my mind. I saw a long road toward a bright horizon and understood Jesus had already answered my prayers in the future. It was done. He is victorious. All I had to do was live toward the answers! How great is our God?
The revelation of the future answer changed everything. I could have faith — not in the now and in my circumstances but in the assurance that God’s plans are good and my prayers have been answered. I knew God had made promises assuring me this situation would end well, but the lack of evidence caused me to continually stumble and fear. This new picture of the completed answers, a point on the horizon I could live toward, renewed my hope and faith. I went inside and lay on my floor — still sad but genuinely praising Jesus.
'Thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Jesus,' I said over and over until I felt peace and could face my life circumstances again."
Jesus told us while we are in character training we will be pushed on every side, just as He was. Paul wrote, “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair” (2 Corinthians 4:8 NLT).
