What’s most important to Henriët? It’s not money, power or fame. And it’s not even her husband or son, her most cherished relationships. What’s most important to her is living a life that pleases Jesus. At the end of her days, Henriët longs to hear her Heavenly Father say, “Well done, you good and faithful servant.”
Her work story is multifaceted. She is the lead pastor of True Hope Community, a church for families and individuals dealing with addiction, recovery and mental health issues. She also is the executive director and founder of Semper Vita, a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to helping families find hope and resources after experiencing the hardships of addiction, recovery, mental health and suicide.
Additionally, Henriët the president of Semper Vita Institute, her own training company that uses StrengthsFinder, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and spiritual gifts assessments to help business leaders discover and develop their personal wiring. She is a certified MBTI Practitioner and Certified Gallup StrengthsFinder Coach.
She brings over 30 years of leadership, spiritual direction and team development experience in ministry-related positions to both organizations. She is an experienced trainer, speaker, and author. Prior to these current adventures, she worked at Timberlake Christian Fellowship in Redmond, WA, as pastor of adult ministries. Before Timberlake, she had been pastor to women at Lincoln Glen Church in San Jose, CA. Henriët started her work story with a career in public relations for the high-tech and consumer sectors after graduating with a marketing degree.
Henriët is an ordained Free Methodist minister. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Leadership from Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, California, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Santa Clara, California. She has had several articles published and writes on her blog, www.henrietsblog.com.
Henriët was born in the Netherlands and moved to the United States in 1979. A first generation American, she married, Fred, in 1981, and they have one son born in 1992.
